August 2019

It’s time for the clichéd question: “HoW iS iT aLrEaDy AuGuSt?!” I’ve asked it. You’ve asked it. Heck, you probably used it as an icebreaker this morning when you found yourself alone at the coffee machine with Karen from accounting (Sorry to all the Karens out there, but it just fits, you know?)

In my mind, we still have plenty of summer left. Maybe it’s the realist in me *cough global-warming-is-real-and-imminent-and-we-need-to-do-something-now cough*, but I know we’ll still be able to go to the North Ave beach way into September – I’m not stressing about Chiberian temperatures just yet. May 2019

From hearing Celine Dion’s “I Surrender” in the dance studio to Avicii’s “Levels” at a frat party to JT’s “Mirrors” blasting on my first date with Josh, music has been such an integral part of my life. So many songs can bring back a massive flood of memories – some fantastic moments, some I’d rather not re-live.  It’s also amazing how quickly a mood can change when you hear “Forever” by Chris Brown. Does it make everyone want to recreate the scene from The Office or is that just me? Anyone else get in a gloomy mood and play the saddest of all sad songs just to really emphasize that bad mood and then stare out the window of the car/train/bus like you’re in a movie? And then realize that you’re pretending you’re in a movie and immediately regret it and turn on “Let’s Get Loud” by J.Lo to make up for it? Also just me? Cool.

Needless to say, music is such an important part of my life and I’m so happy to share my love of it with you. Every month, I’ll be creating a new playlist for you guys – new songs plus some throwbacks that’ll have you saying “Oh yeahhhhh, I remember this one!” Even better: I’ll be sharing those playlists on Spotify for you all to enjoy!
