Un-offendable.

I honestly didn’t know what to title this today but I was up all night trying to figure out how to write this blog. I couldn’t sleep, trying to find the words to use to convey how I am feeling while not burning down my blog from the get go. How sad is that? A place where I am supposed to journal my thoughts and feelings and I am having to tread lightly so as not to “offend” anyone. That is the era we live in. It’s racist to say “ALL Lives Matter.” All Muslims are considered terrorists. All Christians are considered “fire and brimstone crazy”. All Mexicans are considered illegal immigrants. All African Americans are considered criminals. All whites are considered racist. All democrats are considered corrupt and all republicans are considered conspiracy theorists. Pro-life is considered harmful. Being straight now means you are ANTI-LGBTQ. This world has become so divided, it’s pathetic.

This country was created by immigrants. It was founded as a place to be free from being told what to believe and how to think and how to live your life. Our founding father’s sacrificed their freedom, their health, their children’s lives, their marriages, their properties and homes and finances to build this country. They did it fearlessly, knowing they could lose their own lives. They rode through the night, through the storms, through the enemies camps, bravely doing what needed to be done to make America the land of the free and the home of the brave. And yet freedom has its limits these days. Some can be free but others can’t. The same people who complained about their lack of freedom, have no problem shutting others down of theirs. People now HATE others for believing different than their own beliefs. The anger is so strong in this country and everyone is offended.

I honestly do not know where this transformation happened. Where did it begin? When EXACTLY did it flip?

I CAN tell you that our school system is failing us terribly. I saw a brief snapshot on the news yesterday of a fight that broke out after a school board meeting in Glendale, CA after the discussion arose on whether or not to allow pride parades in public schools. People were flailing their arms around at anyone they could contact. It was a full on brawl. Now listen, I don’t care what you feel about the LGBTQ community. I may not choose to live that life myself, since I made an oath to God to live according to his commandments, but He also asks us to love everyone just as He does. He doesn’t say love some and not others, he says love EVERYONE. So I do. Whether or not I agree with peoples lifestyles, religious beliefs, core values, family values, political stances and so on, I love you all the same. I will treat you with respect and kindness, but ask for the same in return. And that is where the issues today are.

We have become a selfish world. What’s in it for me? I was a victim so I deserve special treatment now. You did this to me or my kind and so now I will do it back to you. I want EVERYONE to believe what I believe. Our freedom is not free anymore. And our school system is playing right into those hands. The people we are entrusting to our kids, are now RAISING our kids. Our schools that were created to teach the core subjects: math, science, literature, PE and history, are now teach our children what should be taught at home by parents according to their own family values. The states are now determining the proper ages to allow children to decide things for themselves, taking away the parents rights, the parents protection. It’s sickening.

Now before you begin to comment below on the story you’ve created in your head on who you think I am, let me explain. We are all immigrants. We are all different. There is nothing wrong with that. That is how God created us. And we should celebrate our differences. But to force some and ban others is NOT okay. Why is it okay to have a pride parade but take the pledge of allegiance and prayer out? Why can we teach multi-genders and critical race theory and evolution but not creation? If you are going to include one, you must include all. Or maybe don’t include ANYTHING? Maybe just stick to what you are supposed to teach our kids: how to write their letters and numbers, addition, subtraction, telling time, money, reading, how to make a volcano erupt, and everything that does NOT have a political agenda. The school system has become the parents. It’s not their job to parent. And I know some parents aren’t around and some “shouldn’t” be parents, but that’s not the school systems responsibility. That’s the social workers. Our kids can barely pass their core subjects because classes are too busy being told what to believe and how to feel and who is bad and who is good and what is wrong and what is right and confusing our children to believe that what they are taught at home is not correct. That is not the school systems job. 18 year olds are graduating High School and not leaving the nest because they were brainwashed on ideologies and cannot even budget a checkbook or fill a gas tank. Meanwhile the economy has become so far out of control that both parents are working just to afford their bills and entrusting their children to the school system to teach their baby birds how to fly, only to watch them spread their wings to leave the nest and face plant on the pavement. You’ve got college students that cannot tell you who the first President was or what September 11th was. You’ve got adults dependent on their calculators on their phones because they were too busy forcing common core math that they forgot to teach kids how to use their own unique brains.

Our school system has failed us. And now we live in a world where everyone is offended and soft and afraid to live any other way than how the media is telling us to live. Social media is a bunch of bullies. The news is selfish and careless. We need more celebrating the good and stop spreading fear and anger. An 11 year old in New Mexico saved her family last week from carbon monoxide (odorless and invisible) poisoning in their own home. Did anyone hear about that? Probably not. But they should! The news should be filled with people making the world a BETTER place. Just like those two little kids that wore the same outfit every day to school for a year! One was black and one was white, but those two kids don’t see that. They see cool shirts. They see friendship. We all need to start looking through the eyes of children, not triggered or brainwashed or fearful. Un-offended. Let our children be little. Let our young adults be smart and independent and free. EACH ONE. Let our families raise their own children however they want. Do not punish some and raise up others. Let us ALL be free.

  1. I have been having so many conversations about this lately. I chose to homeschool for a reason….and those of us that do sacrifice a lot to be able to be in control of what our children learn and are exposed to. Not going to allow anyone to take away the love and innocence in my child in the name of “education”.
