Against the Grain is a forum for discussing the intersection of law, state, and the (critique of) political economy. Our approach is heterodox, and incudes Marxist approaches to law, law and political economy [LPE], the material constitution tradition, critical legal studies, and other stars in the same firmament.

Gautam Bhatia is a constitutional lawyer and legal scholar and, currently, a Green Fellow at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. Gautam, who also runs the Constitutional Law and Philosophy blog, is interested in the intersection of comparative constitutional law and critical political economy.
Hrishika Jain is a lawyer and legal scholar, currently teaching at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. Her research interests include the emancipatory limits of the legal form, the relationship between constitutions and rule-of-law ideologies, and the social lives of constitutional texts.
Kieran Correia is a lawyer with interests in constitutional law, and the law and political economy framework. Kieran also is a regular writer at the Constitutional Law and Philosophy Blog.
Rudraksh Lakra is a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) graduate of Jindal Global Law School and a technology law and policy professional. His interests lie at the intersection of technology, human rights, political economy, and postcolonial studies.
Samvedh Eswar (he/him) is a lawyer and researcher working primarily in labour and criminal law. His interests are in the social life of law and political economy critiques.
